Product Manager / Product Owner Marketplace wanted to help us with everything customers do to collaborate: search, visibility, communication, adoption, etc.

Job description

We are looking for a driven Product Manager to help us take the next step in our European expansion. Are you seeking a role with growth opportunities in an enthusiastic team? Read on!

Why this vacancy?

12Build is a SaaS-enabled marketplace. Main contractors and subcontractors connect on our platform and collaborate through our process solutions. These process solutions have their own product teams, and until now, these teams have been collectively responsible for the operation of our marketplace. However, we recognise the significant value of a high-quality collaboration between the different parties on our platform. Therefore, we want to centralise this responsibility within a new team (and in time there will probably be more than 1 team).

What does the job involve?

The Marketplace team focuses specifically on the visibility and activation of European subcontractors and their adoption of our platform. European main contractors find subcontractors through our marketplace to collaborate with. In many cases, these subcontractors are hearing about 12Build for the first time. It is essential that we welcome them properly and assist in establishing a high-quality collaboration with the main contractor. Additionally, we offer products for these subcontractors that save them time on a daily basis and improve their visibility to main contractors.

What does this look like on a daily basis?

  • As a Product Manager, you will be part of a self-contained, multidisciplinary product team responsible for the Marketplace. The team includes colleagues from Data, Design, Development, and QA.
  • You will have regular contact with customers to gain a clear understanding of their challenges. You will assist your product team in determining solutions for these challenges. Our product strategy will guide you, but you will also provide input for its enhancement.
  • You will consider in advance how we will measure whether the solution works (or not). Afterwards, you will monitor usage and, if necessary, initiate improvements.
  • You will work with Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales to ensure that the solution is launched, accepted, and used both internally and externally.

Who will I work with, apart from my product team?

The Product department consists of Product Managers and Product Designers and is responsible for the development of 12Build: the leading platform for construction in the Benelux, the DACH region, and Denmark. Over the past years, we have achieved a lot. The complete renovation of our platform is finished, and we have rolled out various large new functionalities for different countries.

12Build according to Sam (Product Operations)

"12Build is an incredibly pleasant employer. The three core values (Drive, Happiness, and Openness) are central, allowing you to get the most out of yourself. Everyone can be themselves, making it a joy to come to work."

What do you expect from me?

  • You have a couple of years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner and are looking to take the next step.
  • You have a perspective on Product Management as a field. For instance, you may have noticed that the term "Scrum" has not been mentioned so far. Additionally, you like to stay updated on the latest developments. Extra points if names like Marty Cagan, Melissa Perri, John Cutler, and Teresa Torres ring a bell and you know how to apply their theories in practice.
  • Empathy, both towards customers and colleagues. You can effectively put yourself in others' shoes and use that in your work. For example, you enjoy coaching less experienced colleagues.
  • You value "product instinct," but also data. You use data to support your decisions, measure adoption, and propose improvements.
  • You can clearly articulate both verbally and in writing how a situation is structured, why something needs to be done, and what that "something" looks like.

Job requirements

What's in it for you?

  • Choose your own hardware.
  • The option to work both from home and in the office. If you work from home, you’ll receive a home office allowance. If you work in the office, you can leave your lunchbox at home as we provide a free lunch every day.
  • All the tools (Segment, Amplitude, Productboard, etc.) and processes (Product Operations, Product Discovery) you need to excel. And if you have ideas on how to improve things, we’re all ears!
  • Work in an organisation where culture truly comes first. Our core values are Drive, Openness, and Happiness. Feel free to ask us about them and see how we put them into practice.
  • Regular fun outings, team days, speakers, and workshops.
  • No towering hierarchical layers. Just a flat organisation with short lines of communication – much simpler.
